Abstract
Da‘wah Ilā al-Khayr, meaning “invitation to good,” holds a central position in the Qur’anic and Prophetic framework as a collective duty (farḍ kifāyah) of the Muslim Ummah. The Qur’an commands believers to form a dedicated group that calls to good (Islam), enjoins what is right, and forbids what is wrong (Āl ʿImrān 3:104, al-Ḥajj 22:41, al-Tawbah 9:71, Luqmān 31:17). Prophetic traditions emphasize the obligation to convey the message, even if it is a single verse, and to actively oppose evil through action, speech, or at least in the heart. Historically, the Companions (Ṣaḥābah) were the first to fulfill this mission, expanding Islam beyond the Arabian Peninsula to Persia, Rome, and beyond. Da‘wah Ilā al-Khayr encompasses the reformation of belief and worship, moral and social integrity, economic justice, and the eradication of oppression and false systems. It is both an instrument of collective guidance and a constitutional directive for the Muslim community, ensuring its identity, unity, and moral survival. This study highlights the prominent aspects of guidance in Da‘wah Ilā al-Khayr and examines its constitutional implications under the Islamic legal framework, illustrating its indispensable role in shaping a just, moral, and united society.
