Submission & Peer Review Process
Submission Process
Authors are invited to submit original research articles. The submission process includes:
- Prepare the manuscript according to journal guidelines.
- Submit online via the submission portal or email.
- Initial internal/desk review for formatting, ethics, and research quality.
- Double-blind external review by national and international experts.
- Revision based on reviewer comments (minor/major).
- Final acceptance and publication.
Peer Review Process
The integrity of the journal depends on rigorous peer review. Al-Asr follows HEC guidelines strictly, ensuring each submission undergoes a thorough review process:
Internal/Desk Review
Editorial board members review formatting, ethics, research design, and literature contribution. Papers failing to meet basic requirements are not sent for external review.
External Review (National & International)
A double-blind review ensures author anonymity. Two reviewers, one local and one international, evaluate originality, research design, presentation, analysis, and contribution. Reviewers have 4–5 weeks to complete their review.
Reviewer Selection Criteria
- Must hold Ph.D. or equivalent qualification.
- Recognized expert in the relevant field with prior publications.
- Not affiliated with the author’s institution.
- Good understanding of research methodology.

Resubmission & Appeals
Authors must revise papers carefully following reviewer suggestions and submit responses within two weeks. Appeals can be sent to alasrresearchjournal@gmail.com. The Editorial Board will review and respond appropriately.
Language Editing
Authors must ensure manuscripts are free from spelling, grammar, and syntax errors. Non-native English/Arabic/Urdu speakers should have manuscripts reviewed by a language expert.
Publication Fee
- Processing Fee: Rs. 5000/- Only
- Article Fee: Rs. 20,000/- Only
All articles published in Al-Asr International Research Journal of Islamic Studies are open access and immediately available to read, download, and share. Articles are published under a Creative Commons license.
Sources of Funding
The journal is primarily funded through publication fees, with no commercial sponsors. This ensures editorial independence and maintains high scholarly standards.
