About the Journal

Aims 

Al-Asr is an Academic Research Journal devoted to Islamic research and scholarship. It is to serve as a forum for scholars to write objectively, analytically and where ever necessary, critically on the Quran, Sunnah, Sirah and Islamic Jurisprudence. This research journal has applied for accreditation by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Al-Asr is a peer-reviewed research Journal is being published bi-annually for research work, since 2020. It is a project of the Al-Irfan Research Center, Sant Nagar, Lahore.

Objectives

The aim of Al-Asr is to provide a platform for academic researchers, teachers and students to share their efforts and circulate their results to promote research in the field of Islamic Studies by providing opportunities for print and online access to quality material for all those who are interested in research regarding religious sciences. Its goal is to highlight Islamic concepts to answer the questions and to find solutions to different issues arising in the modern era in the light of Shariah. It aims at defining Islam in terms of its fundamentals in a rational and liberal manner emphasizing at the same time, the basic Islamic ideas of universal brotherhood, tolerance, and social justice.

Scope of the Journal

Al-Asr is an interdisciplinary bi-annual journal that focuses on religious studies that seek to publish arbitrated articles dealing with various aspects of life. It covers basic sources of Islamic Legislation such as Uloom-ul-Quran, Uloom-ul-Hadith and Usool-e-Fiqh.

Al-Asr is a print and online research journal published according to HEC Policy. The journal provides a platform for postgraduate students, scholars, and professors to publish their valuable research on current issues. An international perspective is also reflected by the Journal’s trilingual approach as it welcomes research papers in Urdu, English and Arabic.
