Abstract

This study, titled “Prophecies in the Bible Regarding the Advent of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: An Analytical Study in the Light of Fiqh al-Sirah,” examines the biblical prophecies that Muslim scholars have interpreted as predictions of the advent of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The research analyzes selected passages from the Old and New Testaments, particularly those associated with the coming of a future prophet and evaluates their significance in the light of Fiqh al-Sirah, The study of the Prophetic biography with its historical, theological, and contextual dimensions. The study adopts an analytical and comparative methodology, examining the relevant biblical texts alongside Qur’anic references, Prophetic traditions, classical Muslim scholarship and contemporary academic interpretations. It seeks to distinguish between textual evidence, Muslim exegetical interpretations and later polemical readings, while considering the historical and religious contexts in which these prophecies were understood. The research argues that several biblical passages have been regarded by Muslim scholars as containing indications compatible with the mission and characteristics of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, although their interpretation remains a subject of theological and academic debate. By integrating the principles of Fiqh al-Sirah with textual and historical analysis, the study aims to provide a balanced assessment of the evidentiary value of these prophecies and their relevance to the understanding of the final Prophethood in Islam.
