This study explores the relationship between Hadith principles and Hanafi legal theory (Usul al-Fiqh), arguing that Hadith methodology is not confined to classical Hadith compilations but is also systematically embedded within Hanafi juristic literature. The research examines the historical development of Hanafi jurisprudence and analyzes key Hadith-related principles such as solitary reports (khabar al-wahid), conflict resolution, preference (tarjih), abrogation (naskh), and communal practice (‘amal).
The findings demonstrate a fundamental harmony between the methodologies of Hanafi jurists and Hadith scholars, with differences primarily rooted in interpretive approaches rather than substantive disagreement. The study challenges common misconceptions regarding Hanafi disengagement from Hadith and highlights the integrative nature of Islamic legal theory.
