Abstract

The article under consideration provides a conceptual and descriptive estimate of vast applications of modern biotechnology and the debates surrounding its use among Muslims. This research discusses bioethical issues in relevance to Islamic law (Maqasid al-Sharia) and the major jurisprudential maxims (Qawaid Fiqhiyyah) while suggesting the way forward for the Muslim community in such unprecedented situations
