Abstract

In the specific Perspective of the unique status of the Prophet hood of the last prophet, MOHAMMAD peace be upon him, slaat-o- slaam and Na'at is one of the basic important and sensitive topics. Basically it is derived from the fundamental sources of Islam and based on the holy Qur'an as Allah Almighty says إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلائِكَتَهُ ‌يُصَلُّونَ ‌عَلَى ‌النَّبِيِّ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيما .All the Prophets of Allah have equal status being the prophets and Allah showered His special blessings on them, however their specialties have also determined by Allah. So this is one of the specialties of the last prophet MOHAMMAD peace be upon him that Allah has ordered the believers/ the Muslims to present the gift of درود و سلام to the Prophet peace be upon him as maximum as possible. It is the best of all وظائف caused blessings of Allah and His nearness to the Ummah/ the believers. Due to this special importance of the topic the believers have been taking interest consciously from the very beginning of the Islamic history in this regard. Along with it, Na'at saying pious and noble tradition is also found throughout the history of Islam which started from the early Prophetic period in Arabic and spread throughout the world languages. Na'at is the description of the Prophetic qualities and characteristics expressing the devotion and affiliation of the believers to the holy Prophet peace be upon him. The cause to develop the following article is to throw light on the comprehensive meanings of the above said specific terminologies.
