The Importance of Rightful Knowledge of the Quranic Sciences for Rightful Comprehension of the Holy Quran: An Analytical Study

Abstract

The Holy Quran is the last, yet complete and eternal, code of life for the entire human being. To achieve the aims and objectives of the Revelation is a truly arduous and uphill task, and it will remain undone without the exact knowledge of the Quranic Sciences. The purpose of this critical study is to examine the role of Quranic sciences, including knowledge of abrogation, the application of reason to reveal, rules of recitation, rules of exegesis, etymology, and linguistics. These sciences play a vital role in achieving the divine objective of guidance through the rightful comprehension of the text. The study emphatically expresses the fact that without the rightful mastery of the Quranic science, the destination of the right path is impossible, and the interpretation would be troublesome for mankind. This study also depicts that contemporary distraction of the general people of the Ummah and the downfall of the Muslim world can be managed only by the profound study of the Holy Quran, which in itself is out of question without the Quranic Sciences. By adopting a well-structured, resolute, and unflinching approach to the Quranic science, this paper designs an outline for an enlightened and practicable interpretation of the holy Quran.
