Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has helped to streamline decision-making processes in several areas of human life, but introducing biased data and algorithmic discrimination has introduced a greater sense of risk to having unfair outcomes. This research examines the bias and discriminatory decisions made in the application of Artificial Intelligence based on the principles of justice, equality and impartiality as stated by the Holy Prophet Muḥammad (PBU). This research seeks to illuminate prophetic principles of justice which can help contribute to mitigating bias, safeguarding the dignity of the human person and providing fair decision making in modern Electronic Human Assistive Systems. The research shows that the principles of justice applied by prophet (PBUH) offered a better understanding for a framework of ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence systems in Islamic perspective.
