Repentance (Tawbah) is a fundamental Islamic concept that promotes psychological well-being, moral development, and spiritual purification. Imam Al-Ghazali viewed repentance as a transformative process that enables individuals to overcome guilt, anxiety, and moral shortcomings while cultivating virtues such as sincerity, piety, and self-discipline. This study analytically examines Imam Al-Ghazali's concept of repentance and its psychological and moral effects through a descriptive and analytical approach, drawing primarily on the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din. The study concludes that sincere repentance contributes to inner peace, ethical character, and social harmony, making Imam Al-Ghazali's thought highly relevant for addressing contemporary moral and psychological challenges.
