This research highlights the literary, spiritual, and reformative aspects of prophetic warnings and good news found in contemporary Arabic poetry. While prophetic warnings (nadhāʾir) warn against corruption, injustice, moral decline, and societal disintegration, prophetic joyful tidings (bashāʾir) allude to the positive messages sent by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, such as promises of compassion, victory, and moral uplift. These two aspects have motivated contemporary Arab poets to use the prophetic heritage as a framework to deal with the problems and goals of their countries.
The study investigates how contemporary poets used the prophetic paradigm to craft a poetic language that strikes a balance between caution and optimism. The research uses literary analysis to show that although warnings serve as instruments of criticism and moral awareness, good news frequently represents rebirth, emancipation, and group resiliency. The stylistic strategies employed in this setting, such as symbolism, intertextuality with the Qur'an and Hadith, and rhetorical intensity, are further examined in this study.
Ahmad Shawqi, Muhammad Iqbal, and Abd al-Rahman al-Sharqawi are just a few of the prominent poets whose works are examined in this book. It shows how contemporary Arabic poetry turns prophetic warnings and good news into vibrant cultural and moral resources. These themes offer a useful perspective for interacting with modern reality while still preserving the spiritual core of the prophetic tradition.
