The Need for National Unity and the Underlying Principles for its Establishment in the State Institutions

Abstract

Islam has a congregational nature ‘Ijtemaiyat’ in itself.  Societal life is inevitable for the survival of life. A man was bestowed upon the status of regent ‘KhilafateArzi’ and to shoulder this task efficiently, it was ordered “Hold fast together the rope of Allah ‘HabLillah’ and divide not among them”. And to maintain unity it was further ordered, “ALLAH created ‘MuaddahwaRahmah’ love and affection among you.” This article discusses the need and the principles for the societal congregation in contemporary times.
