Abstract

History and historical facts are linked with the cultural heritage of an area. History and fiction are reciprocal in every civilization. History is the study of human progress and fiction is also the tool of expression of the people. Men had always been used history and fiction for his identity and preserve their past and present for future. Like other regions, Dera Ghazi Khan has also a great historical and literary perspective through ages. The intellectuals served and contributed through different discipline as historical writings, poetry, prose, and journalism. The intellectuals proved that Dera Ghazi Khan is not a backward region but a fertile land of history, culture and literature. This research paper explores and highlights the historical, cultural and literary background of Dera Ghazi Khan.
