Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and his Efforts in Spreading the Arabic Language and Its Literature

Abstract

Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is one of the prominent scholars of the present era who has rendered all-round services for the promotion of the Arabic language and literature. His scientific and intellectual efforts have become an effective means of promoting the Arabic language not only in the subcontinent but also globally. Dr. Qadri has authored several books in Arabic, which is evidence of his extraordinary mastery of the Arabic language. Moreover, his speeches and lectures in Arabic are a beautiful blend of scholarly dignity and literary elegance, through which he not only promoted the practical use of the Arabic language but also adapted it to contemporary requirements. His Arabic poetry is also a fine example of eloquence and rhetoric, in which intellectual depth and literary beauty are prominently reflected. At the institutional level, the establishment of the Department of Arabic at Minhaj University, Lahore is a manifestation of Dr. Qadri’s academic vision, where regular education in Arabic language and literature is being imparted from B.S.(Hons) to PhD. Similarly, the teaching of Arabic language and literature under Nizam al-Madaris Pakistan has been organized and developed on modern lines, through which high skills of research, comprehension of texts and expression are being developed in the students. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri's services in the promotion of Arabic language and literature constitute a comprehensive and enduring scholarly tradition, which serves as a beacon of light for future generations.
