Abstract

Islamic economics has been a focus of Muslim scholars for a long time. Notable figures such as Abu Yusuf, Abu Ubayd al-Qasim bin Sallam, Ibn Khaldun, Imam Ghazali, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Shah Waliullah, among others, authored numerous books that highlight the fundamental Islamic principles governing economic discourse. They compared the Islamic economic system with capitalism and socialism, propounded theories of Muslim economics, and elaborated on its philosophy. The region of the subcontinent has also been blessed with notable scholars who have written extensively on Islamic economics. This research paper aims to analyze books on Islamic economics written in the Urdu language over the past two decades. It will showcase the authors’ approaches and methodologies while highlighting the salient features of these works.
