An increasing number of young people in Pakistan are showing atheistic tendencies, and this has become a matter of growing concern for society. This research explores the underlying causes of this trend and suggests possible remedies. Key factors contributing to the rise of atheism among youth include the strong influence of social media, the spread of misleading or false information, and the increasing popularity of secular and non-religious ideologies. Constant exposure to such ideas online often leads young people to question or even abandon their faith. Another significant cause is the lack of adequate religious education, both at home and in educational institutions. Changing family structures have also played a role, with many households no longer placing as much emphasis on religious values as in the past. Addressing this challenge requires collective efforts from parents, teachers, and religious scholars. They need to engage with youth, respond to their questions, and present religious teachings in a rational and meaningful way. It is also crucial to equip young people with critical thinking skills to help them distinguish between authentic and misleading information, especially in the digital space. These steps may help reduce the growing appeal of atheism among the younger generation.
